Decisions, Decisions...featuring Lauren of JL Photographers

Kilim rugs. Oh kilim rugs, how I love thee.  The gorgeous colors, the patterns, everything about them I LOVE --everything except the price.  $3,000+ YIKES.  So when I decided to go on an adventure to the flea market, I was on a mission to find one!  The problem?  I've never been much for bargaining.  I enjoy a good sale, but I am not a bargainer.  Not at garage sales, not at a flea market, I am just not good at it!

I went to the Rose Bowl flea market with only $200.  I passed three vendors selling gorgeous lilim rugs, all of which wanted $250 - $1000.  I left them without even trying to bargain.  I was beginning to lose hope, but on our last round when we were getting ready to leave, we passed by one last rug vendor, with a giant, gorgeous lilim rug laid out on the ground.  They wanted $180! Amazing! Sadly, I did not have that much money left.  I told the man I only had $100, but that I loved the rug!  I had very little hope that he would accept my -- who sells a 6x9 kilim rug in perfect condition for $100?

He accepted!  He said it cost more for him to store the rug and he didn't want to take it back!  Now I have the most gorgeous and HUGE kilim rug in my living room, reminding me of the one time I actually tried to bargain and won!

Thank you so much Lauren for sharing your decision to find yourself a gorgeous kilim rug in your budget!  Sometimes it takes awhile, but it is great when you stick to your guns and win.

In case you do not know, Lauren and her husband are amazing photographers.

Until the next big decision!

What a great find! You never know what someone will accept. I have been surprised a number of times when I just ask "is that the best you can do" and usually they offer way less than I would have!
